Origin
The Doberman’s origin may be traced back to the late 1800s, when a German tax collector named Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann set out to create a new breed of dog through a series of cross breeding. He wanted a dog that could defend him, as his profession as a tax collector required him to deal with threats and other dangers on a regular basis. He was also concerned that the money he had gathered on the job might be stolen by thieves and criminals.
Different dog breeds were crossed, including Rottweilers, Weimaraners, and Manchester Terriers, among others, resulting in the creation of the Doberman breed, and one of the best guard dogs.
Now, the modern Doberman is a loving, caring family dog. Dobies are devoted to their family and expect special attention. A Dobie's main goal is to be with their humans and protect them at all times.
Personality
Dobermans adore being close to their owners and will follow them around the house. Dobermans are also known for being bold, vigilant, and protective, so you might see them standing guard in an unfamiliar setting.
They're happy and sensitive dogs, so treat them gently, as you would with any dog. Dobermans, due to their temperament, can become destructive if not properly trained and exercised. If you don't offer a bored Doberman a job, he'll find one for himself, and it won't be one you'd choose! Fill their life with exciting, fascinating activities to do for their own satisfaction and to avoid problems at home.
