Origin

The Jack Russell terrier originated in England in the mid-to-late 1800s in response to a need for a small but feisty fox  hunting dog. Today's Jack Russell's are characterized by two-tone or tri-colour patterns of white, brown, and sometimes black.

Personality

Russells are sweet, devoted, and totally amusing! While incredibly intelligent, their wilful nature can make them difficult to train. They are friendly toward people, but can be aggressive toward other dogs and any animals that resemble prey, including cats. Unfortunately, their fearless nature can even put them at risk.
